Gold Coast based songstress Yasmina Despot was born to sing.

Hailing originally from Sydney and growing up between the Gold Coast and New Zealand, Yasmina’s childhood memories consist of her listening to and singing along with some of the greats like Whitney Houston, Lauren Hill, Alicia Keys and Etta James. In fact, Yasmina (or Yasi to her friends) can’t remember ever not singing and attributes these epic singers as strong influences in her musical journey and being responsible for her passion to pursue singing from an early age. Other artists who played an integral part in shaping her style include Erykah Badu, Jasmine Sullivan and Jill Scott.

Stylistically, Yasi naturally gravitates towards RnB, Hip Hop, Rap and Neo- Soul but can also effortlessly bust out powerhouse rock tunes and iconic dance hits like the best of them making her an extremely versatile performer and a force to be reckoned with.

One of Yasi’s career highlights so far is being involved as a principal vocalist in the critically acclaimed Motown show, Can You Feel It working alongside some of Australia’s finest performers.
